Thanks to AMDP I had the possibility to meet amazing people with whom I hope we will be able to bring a breath of fresh air to the African music sector

The Makerere exchange program was very useful.I learnt a lot of things.It would be good if this happens to other countries for us to learn their culture too.It was such an inspiring session.I enjoyed everything including the Matoke food.It was delicious.Finally my final quote that I got from Uganda is We rise by lifting others.Let's work as a family.

I’m in love with the fact that AMDP has come out to facilitate skills exchanges between artists and festival professionals in order to achieve a common goal of artistic platform development especially for African festivals […] If AMDP stands for objectives such as to increase professional capacity throughout the sector, then there is hope for African professionals

My experience had added a good impact to my African music as a student and ethnomusicologist......I know this isn't all but I wish many more people would gain this knowledge that I did too and it may be expanded all around Africa and even outside Africa....thank you AMDP

My two month internship under the AMDP at Busara Promotions has been the most timely oppourtnity I have had to enhance my skills in events management, festival curation and learning more on African music. During the just ended Sauti za Busara Music festival I connected with various influential players in the arts industry and arts professionals from different parts of the world. I had a chance of speaking about my work and finding synergies among a number of women who were part of the festival. The festival allowed me to access arts from other African countries and opened me up to musicians I had not heard of. Thank you AMDP!!!!! from Linda Gabriel.

Hello to everyone, I hope that you have all received the list of participants for the Feux the Brazza Festival organisers’ training course. Hopefully, this directory will help consolidate our partnership by keeping us up to speed with each other’s activities. It will also help us develop other partnership opportunities in order to overcome the difficulties we may face in event organising. Many thanks to the two Luc’s for their availability. Thank you also to IMC and Feux de Brazza. Wishing all of you well and much success with your different festivals.

It was a great opportunity for me to be at the festival and to have a closer look on it, especially by getting in touch with some people of the organizing team. I really enjoyed meeting so many different people from different countries, all connected by the fact that they make music, produce music and make musical events happen. Though it was a very good opportunity for networking, e.g. through the Movers and Shakers Session, which might be useful for us students in the future. I am happy to have had the chance to take part in this program and I hope it will continue

This internship was implemented in order to enable us, as future cultural actors, to immerse ourselves in all the aspects of festival organisation. Holding a graduate diploma in Artistic Studies, specialised in African Music, we understood the value of this internship, in the sense that it allowed us not only to participate in the organisation, but also to discover and learn more about Congo Brazzaville's music and traditional dances

Among all the lessons learnt while observing, following and practicing, we may take away five main ones for our own experience and the development of our festival: how to negotiate with sponsors, how to best use Internet to better communicate and sell the image of the festival and artists, how to manage a press center, the main details of site and stage management, how to manage a group of interns.

Now I know how to manage artists, sign a contract and grow my company which I started with my friend in Kenya. I have got all my objectives and even got more than I expected... I would like come back not once but to be part of Busara. Thank you.

Since l am a music student, singer in a live Band and an actress, l wanted to learn more about Music Business and Artists Management in field because l already had the theory as a course unit. It was such a great opportunity because l learnt how a Music Business and artists are managed through reading the documents we were given and observing what Journey was doing, the way he could keep in touch, coordinate and communicate with artists before their arrival and after as a Production Manager.
